My name is Astrid Ariana. I grew up training under the Cecchetti method of Ballet, Grades 1-7, under Béa Rashid and Rosina Devries at Dance Center Evanston while dancing with the Chicago Joffrey Ballet Academy in my summers. I am graduating this spring from Butler University and Butler Ballet with a Bachelor of Science in Dance – Arts Administration and a Minor in Business.

My current training with Butler Ballet includes Ballet, Pointe, Ballet and Contemporary Partnering, Modern (Taylor, Graham, Cunningham), Contemporary, Jazz, West African, Character, Classical Variations, Improvisation, and Choreography. These classes are taught under the direction of Ramon Flowers, Susan McGuire, Derek Reid, David Ingram, Cynthia Pratt, Rosanna Ruffo, Market Cholewa, and Katie Currier.

I have performed in a variety of corps work, solo work, and partnering pieces with Butler Ballet, noted in my dance resume. I have also been choreographing for three years in my time at Butler for many showcases and collaborative art projects. I have experience teaching dance classes and demonstrating proper technique to dance students.

Beyond my artistic endeavors I have a Major in Arts Administration and serve in numerous leadership roles on campus. Some of my relevant coursework includes Principles and Practices of Arts Administration, Design and Production, Business Statistics, Microsoft Excel, Managerial Accounting, Spanish, and Microeconomics. I serve as a Resident Assistant for three academic school years and have been elected as Butler Ballet Class Representative for four academic school years. I am trained in DEIA and actively lead workshops and meetings to cultivate an inclusive and positive environment.

I work as a Barista Trainer at Starbucks for four years and have had numerous internships in Arts Administration most notably with the Joffrey Ballet in Chicago. I have also received Academic Scholarship for Butler University, a Study Abroad Scholarship, and the Gerstein Travel Fund Scholarship. My work ethic and pursuit of excellence through positivity and passion distinguishes me as an individual and I bring my utmost commitment to everything I pursue.
